Feng Shui Consultant and Licenced Medical Massage Therapist
What do you create when you combine Feng Shui, Pilates and Medical Massage Therapy? You get Evelyn Seed, a multi-dimensional professional with more than three decades of mind-body connection expertise. Just ask Regis Philbin or Sally Jesse Raphael – both have interviewed her as an expert in alternative treatments.
Evelyn has been on the cutting edge of alternative medicine and new age philosophy since arriving in New York in 1969. Studying psychology at Hunter College and The New School for Social Research Evelyn began her exploration of the mind. She expanded from the mind to the body. Teaching Pilates at Seed Studio, an exercise and acupuncture clinic she owned with her late husband Bob Seed, a well-known acupuncturist.
Evelyn then moved through a natural progression into massage therapy at the Swedish Institute in 1976. For almost 30 years, she has worked as a successful medical massage therapist in New York's premier spas and health clubs working muscle knots out of rock stars and kinks out of some of New York's wealthiest residents. In addition to providing her clients with individualized therapeutic rehabilitation, she also guides them in relaxation techniques for their private use.
After mastering inner techniques Evelyn moved into the world of physical matter learning to transform clients’ physical environments through the ancient Chinese method of Feng Shui. She is a graduate of the Western School of Feng Shui and an intensive three-year program of the BTB School (Tantric Buddhist Black Hat) in San Francisco.
"Evelyn is one of the best practitioners in the United States," says her former professor Barry Gordon. "Her successes have inspired her to be the most knowledgeable in her field." Clients have commented that her "laser fingers" are able to locate the tension that terrorizes their bodies and sends them home in peace.
Currently Evelyn Seed continues consulting, teaching and treating clients with an interdisciplinary approach. "You must make space in your mind to be peaceful, create space in your body by removing stored-up tension to be relaxed and clean out space in your apartment, office or wherever you spend your time to be comfortable. It takes three – mind, body and place – to do this harmony tango."
